Bij hulpmiddelen gaat het om een ander soort match. Agenda’s en planners combineer je met je ritme en werkstijl. Je kijkt naar weekindeling, opmaak en ruimte om doelen bij te houden. Notitie- en kladblokken beoordeel je op formaat en gebruiksgemak voor korte en langere notities.
Leesvaardigheid en educatie vragen ook om gerichte eigenschappen. Bij educatief speelgoed let je op opbouw, oefenvorm en hoe het kind stap voor stap leert. Je merkt snel verschil in inzet, want sommige middelen werken beter naast schooltaken. Daarom helpt het om je keuze te verbinden aan het moment van oefenen.
3. Vergelijk binnen één categorie op inzet
Binnen gedrukte boeken verschillen titels in thema en soort materiaal. Let bijvoorbeeld op doelgroep en leesniveau. Ook maakt het uit hoe het boek is opgezet, met korte hoofdstukken of juist doorlopende tekst. Die opbouw helpt je om het tempo vol te houden.
Binnen agenda’s en planners kun je modellen niet alleen vergelijken op uiterlijk. Kijk naar indeling per dag of per week. Bekijk ook of er genoeg ruimte is voor notities en of het past bij je agenda.
Bij speelgoed voor leesvaardigheid loopt de vergelijking verder dan “voor lezen”. Je vergelijkt oefenvormen, stappen in moeilijkheid en hoe opdrachten reageren op fouten. Let ook op of het helpt bij herhaling of juist bij uitbreiding.
